This is a beautiful rural village that dates back to Viking times which is set in North Yorkshire and provided the location for the fictional village of ‘Aidensfield’ in the television series of ‘Heartbeat’. You can travel to Goathland via steam train along the North Yorkshire Moors Railway which runs from Grosmont to Pickering and Whitby via Goathland. Goathland provides a walkers paradise with an abundance of hikes, trails and incredible scenery and is also close to the Lyke Wake Walk, Coast to Coast and Cleveland Way coastal paths. The charming village has some great amenities comprising of the Goathland hotel & bar (which featured as the Aidensfield Arms in the Heartbeat series), a gift shop, chocolate shop, tea room, restaurant and a beautiful church. The Mallyan Spout is a must see – this is an incredibly beautiful waterfall and stream. You can park your motorhome at Abbot’s House Farm which is conveniently located in Goathland.
