Travel Bucket List – Destinations released in September

September 29, 2016

Following the launch of our ‘Bucket List’ of locations to visit whilst on your motorhome travels, here are the destinations we have selected for September:

Destination number 13: City of York. York is a magical ancient city with an abundance of must-see attractions. Our favourites include strolling down the cobbled streets of the Shambles with the leaning fifteenth century timber framed buildings, visiting the magnificent York Minister cathedral, walking the historic city walls, taking a Yorkboat tour along the River Ouse, going on a ghost tour (if you dare!), sampling the many riverside cafes and restaurants and having some retail therapy in the hundreds of independent boutiques. If you are looking for a luxury, adults-only motorhome park, take a look at York Caravan Park which is set in peaceful parkland with on-site fishing – read more at &

Destination number 14: Malam Cove, North Yorkshire. A stunning huge limestone formation formed by a waterfall carrying meltwater from glaciers at the end of the last Ice Age. A truly unique setting which was the location for scenes in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. You can climb 260+ feet up to the top of the Cove and take in the amazing views aross the village of Malam and the local countryside. Malam village is picturesque and offers several pubs and the beautiful Beck Hall. There is an abundance of nearby beauty spots to visit including Gordale Scar gorge and Malham Tarn nature reserve. A good spot to park your motorhome is the Riverside Campsite, Malham which is family-run, located on a working farm and only a 2 minute walk to the village. Read more at

Destination number 15: Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire. Made famous by the legend of Robin Hood, you can explore the tranquil 450 acre National Nature Reserve and seek out the Major Oak, said to be 800 years old. Sherwood Forest Holiday Park is a perfect family-friendly 40 acre campsite which is specially aimed at young families situated on the banks of the River Maun with a lake on-site. There are excellent facilities including a shop, fishing lake, walking and cycling trails, nearby restaurants and shops in local towns. Read more at
